Background: This project will be developed in cooperation between 4 educational institutions: one in Germany, the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt; and three in Brazil: the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR). The project also has the participation of private sector companies such as: Institut für Nachhaltige Entwicklung and Innovationsfabrik (Germany); KION Group South, InBS and Grupo Boticário (Brazil).
The initiative stems from cooperation between THU, UFSC and UFPR that has been going on for around 10 years, and seeks to create an international network of relationships with the aim of developing training modules in sustainability for higher education students, especially in the areas of engineering and administration.
General objective: To develop and implement, jointly between the participating institutions, education and qualification programs on sustainability issues in the areas of engineering and administration.
Justification: This project follows the approach of equipping multipliers (teachers, students and technical-administrative staff) at all university levels with knowledge, skills, competences and values through teaching and ongoing training, which should enable them to contribute to and implement the necessary tools for sustainable development in their future work.
In addition, the necessary internationalization of sustainability efforts at all partner universities brings with it other synergy effects: the mutual exchange of knowledge, technologies and best practices in teaching, research and university management, the creation of strategic and professional networks with international partners and the expansion of modules to include international perspectives.
